I have a 1944 wc that I am about to start restoring. I noticed that the tractor has a steering brace that is located on the right side of the frame in line with the bell housing. there is nothing special about this brace but it hang's down past the frame. I'm sure that it was
factory made ,but why does it hang down past the frame. What purpose does it serve? any idea's Thank's Tim

It is a pto belt guide to help keep the belt out from under the frame edge and help keep it away from the tires. I cut the bottom off mine a couple of winters ago, then found out the first time I ground corn why it should be there!
