Allis G smoking

Have G Allis.Smokes some after it warms up. Also notice blowby after it warms up. Have checked compression. All cylinders are around 105 lbs. Am novice mechanic, need help.

If you have 105 pounds of compression, you have as much as you can get with new rings. I would recheck it while it was warm to see what you have. I don't see how you could have much blow by with 105 pounds of compression. I would make a guess that if you have much oil smoke that the last time it was overhauled it needed valve guides. It takes a pretty good set of rings and valve grind to get that high of a compression check on those little engines. If they get real hot the tension will go out of the rings and cause it to smoke even if it is not worn out but no way would you get over 100 pounds pressure unless you put a bunch of oil in the sparkplug hole before the check.

I agree with the below poster, if it starts and runs good don't worry too much about it. There's NO way to rebuild this engine cheaply!

My "G" smokes some too, so i bought a can of "Restore" for 6 cycl engines, and put the whole can in with an oil change. I'm not much for additives, but the Restore did help quite a bit! My "G" doesn't see any hard work these days, so the additive was a worth while solution for me.

If you don't need it for serious work and it runs ok, just leave it. Otherwise, it probably needs a ring job at least. May need as much as boring it out and installing the larger pistons. Can't tell until it's torn down. Also would want to check for excessive wear around valve stems.
