What years did they produce the d17 series 4 tractor and what would be an appropriate price range Thanks

IV was the last series of D17. Built in 1966-67. It had improvements in hydraulics, etc over the III. Base price for a running tractor, below average condition is about $2000. Good tires and paint, some rebuilt components might bring $3500. You see them advertised well above that, but i dont know anyone buying at that price. If you are comparing to a $10,000 KOBOTA, a high priced D17 looks pretty attractive. One of the best units Allis ever built.

thanks steve thats about what i was thinking but around here everybody hear of these high prices and think because they have a d series tractor it's worth big dollars I've been looking at a D17 the steering knuckle atop the spindel is very loose, the hand clutch will not release to neutral, oil gauge shows nota, three point is homemade, manifold is busted, carb. leaking, homade seat, and sheet metal broken up and bent. rear housing can't touch oil. 1950.00 maybe asking 3500.00 Iwas raised on a farm my dad had both the d17 and d15 15 was my tractor At that time dad and i farmed approx. 1200 acres rowcrop loved those tractors
