Greg, We offer a 12V conversion wiring system. We offer it with or without alternator. Comes with voltmeter, key switch, alternator brackets, etc. All the stuff to make it happen. Drop us a line if interested...

send me an e-mail and i can send you a diagram. Basically the 2 or "F" terminal on the side is connected to the big 1/4 inch lug on the back and is always HOT- connected to the + terminal of the battery thru the amp meter. THe other spade terminal 1 or "R" is the signal terminal and has a signal voltage applied when running. You must run it thru a toggle switch or key to disconnect when off. Also the 1 line needs an inline reisitor 10 ohm, 10 watt to drop voltage to make it charge "good" at a lower rpm. You can get it at radio shack for $1. Starter is o.k. on 12 volts. Must be negative ground for the alternator. Need 12 volt coil or resistor added to the old 6 volt coil.
