I just bought a wd or wd45 The serial number is kind of rusty and hard to make out could anyone give me an exsample of of wd serial numder and wd45 as I would find it on the tractor.

Tractor S/N for either will start with WD and will be found steel stamped into flat space on left rear of axle housing. As I recall WD is below 146606 and WD45 is above 146607. Also you should check motor S/N (I have 2 WD45's with wrong motor). Motor S/N should be on flat space aft and behind carb. WD will start with WD, WD45 will start with 45-. WC motor will also fit and I believe will start with just W. Also 45 motor does not have removable access panel on right side of block that is present on both WC and WD.

I just found the serial number on my wd-45. It is above the operators platform behind the seat on the left rear side of the differential
housing. It was a two letters followed by six numbers (wd202929).

You have a WD45. The ending serial number for WD's was 160384 in 1954. The beginning serial number for WD45 was 160385 in 1953/54.
