Allis Disk Plow ?

I looked at a yard full of Allis Snap Lock implements the other day. There were a lot
of pull type implements also. All Allis stuff
except for a pull type 6 bottom disk plow.
It was also Allis orange but was printed in the
castings as Athens Plow Co. (if I remember correctly ) from Athens Tennesse. Is this a company Allis bought out or partnered with or is it a non related short line implement company that just happened to use Allis orange ?
I would appreciate any info as I haven't any tractor books with Allis company history. Thanks.

Can you tell me more about the plant?
If it reopened in '87, how long was it closed?
What other implements did they make besides the
disk plows? What implements are they producing
today? Years back, did they produce machinery
for Allis as Hesston did swathers for JICase in the 60's, or was it more of a partnership like
Cub Cadet was for IH where IH sold the mower line
thru their dealerships? I'm just trying to
understand the link between the two companies.

Athens Plow Co.: A locally-owned farm tillage equipment manufacturer. Athens Plow, first established here in 1921, was purchased by local investors and reopened in 1987. The company employs 25 people at its Green Street plant. William L. Willson is the president

Allis used plows made by Athens plow co ,as I can remember plowing with a WD with a 2 disk mounted Athens plow over 45 years ago, some of those plows are still around. I live near the Athens Tn. area
