Chuck, Don't know if this will help much, but my wife and I were talking about where you find canvas for these combines when we attended the Gathering of the Orange (east) a month ago. She came up with the idea that a sailmaker or tent/awning maker would probably have the canvas you'd need for the combine. It would take some doing and it would have to be fabricated "from scratch", but they would have the tooling to do it. Just a thought.

Don't know a source for manuals. We use to have a model 60 combine on the farm, and what's left of it is back in the woods on blocks. I ask my brother if he still had the manual in Dad's stuff, but he wasn't sure and as it was buried up in the attic, I haven't had the time or opportunity to "go a-huntin'"

The serial number, by the way, should be on the left side of the combine on a riveted plate just below where there is a hinged door to allow access to the straw shakers. At least that's where I found it on our old one.

Hope this helps.

Dave

Chuck,
Try posting your question over on the combine board. Someone over there can direct you to a supplier.

Hey, firedog....I didn't know there was a combine board!? :) Where do you have to go to find it? I'd be interested in looking that over too.

Thanks,

Dave
