the D14 was a 6 volt positive ground. Later the D15 (maybe a coule of 14s) came out with 12 volt, but also positive ground. It is not uncommon to change over to 12 volt system. Would suggest you also change to negative ground like the present tractors/trucks. The starter does not care about the voltage or polarity. The distributor coil must have a dropping resistor so it stays at 6 volt (or buy a new coil) switch the wires on the coil and the ampmeter since the current is flowing the opposite way. all light bulb will need changed over. You can use a generator or a alternator. Lot of conversions involve a delco alternator fro the 1975-1985 era with internal voltage regulator. If you need a print, ask.
