D-17, which is cheaper?

I am starting to look for a D-17 tractor, and I am wondering which type is cheaper? Diesel or Gas. I heard the gas model had more than the diesel. And does the series and year have anything to do with it too? Thanks!

Series IV would be more expensive than the earlier models. THere are a lot more gas D17's than diesels so that is probably what you'd find. Also, overhaul parts for gas engines are readily available from multiple sources (AGCO is one of the least expensive believe it or not). Overhaul parts for the diesel are expensive but available. Diesels tend to be hard starting in cold weather while the gas will start with no problems at temperatures well below zero as long as you have the proper oil in them.
