Converting to 12 volts on a WD45, could a guy use a 12volt generator from a WD45 diesel or any other 12volt Allis generator? 12 volts is 12 volts isn't it?

you can use any generator. remember a generator needs a voltage regulator. it is more common to install a alternator from a mid 1975-85 chevy with an internal voltage regulator. less cost and simple unless someone is giving you the generator. If you need additional information, just ask.

To keep a stock look to a tractor, a 12v generator ought to do the trick.
