I purchased a universal plug wire set from TSC and am having second thoughts. They look very cheap. Would I be better off getting a universal kit from an auto parts store?
Also- does anyone know if the length and diameter of the plug wires really matter all that much? I have an option of 7mm or 8mm.
Thanks for your help.

I used a similar set from Central Tractor about 4 or 5 years ago on my 49 B, they are still working fine & dandy. I like the sound of the nice ones with orange boots, maybe one day when my cheap kit wires quit I'll get a set of those.

Eric, We build spark plug wire sets for most AC machines. Copper core, tinned for corrosion resistance, hi heat Orange Silcone boot on the spark plug side, and each wire is labeled for each particular cylinder. Each set comes with Dielectric grease. Drop us a line if interested.....

lot of people have trouble with the "cored" wires. they are high resistance. ask for a set of "copper core" wires. the diameter does not matter, but they will probably be thicker since they are the "old style"

What you want are LOW resistance wires.....the ones that have a continuous wire contact from one end to the other.... yes, even the plug wire kits from JD look very cheap.... There is a wire set out there that has a corbon core, wire-wound the entire length, providing a very low resistance..I think they are the BEST....and radio interferance is reduced ( the neighbor won't complain )....Check at "Auto-Zone"....
