Any suggestions on a 160 with a 3pt hitch that will not lower. The draft and postion cont are both forward. The hitch will go down on its own over time, but controls only make it raise (with good control of speed and distance). Thanks

I am having a similar problem. I was told that it may be the fluid level, but, I can't find anything to tell me what the correct level is. I have a 1970 AC 160 that I inherited. It started raising on it's own and would only go down after shutting the tractor down for a while. Now, it will not raise at all. Can anyone tell me how to check the fluid level? Any other ideas on what could be wrong? I have ordered an owners manual, but, it has not arrived yet... HELP!!!

Try putting the hyd lever in the traction booster position, then put the draft & position control levers all the way down.

I had a 175 that did the samw thing after we had put brakes in it.We had not put the controls back togather right. Had to turn one of the brackets under the controls to allow for it to work Might not be what is wrong My dealer told me about that.Good luck I thing if you look you might find a link bent or lose part next to the axel underneet Roger.

I have tried the levers in every possible position and even attempted to re-index (allowing them to go beyond the limits of the gauge) and still no improvement.

I have the same problem with a 170.
I had a hose break and when I replaced it the arms will not go down unless I have eqquipment attached to it.
I was told there is air in the line and to just keep lowering and raising it with equipment on.
But no luck it still doesn't lower without equipment on.
