Simple IB Question

What is the width and weight of an IB. I don't have any books on A/C's and bought this tractor sight unseen. I'd like to take my small trailer if I could.....so please let me know what I'm up against. How many IB's were built? Does the sheet metal interchange with a B, anything else interchangable?

If you haven't already moved it, just be careful. The first time I moved my AC B, I loaded it on a 5X10 trailer that I was assured had the capacity to haul it. Two miles down the road I realized something was very wrong and checking found the axle bent to the point that the tire was rubbing against the frame. Fortunately, I was able to limp home, but the tire was ruined and the trailer not much better off. I hate to think what could have happened on the open road. As it turned out the rated capacity of the axle was much less than I had been told and about 500 lbs less than the weight of the tractor. I now have overkill, with two 4000 lbs rated capacity axles on the trailer I use to haul equipment.

I just bought one myself. Im taking my 5 x 8 trailer to get it. it is 53" wide im told. I believe it weighs between 2000 and 2500 lbs. i have been told anywhere fro 2000 to 8000 IB's have been made. i think the hood and grill are the same but fenders and seat are different.this will be my first allis chalmers tractor. i sure am lookin forward to getting mine home!!!!! good luck

IB model weight is around 3000 lbs. and closer to 10.5 ft long the only way this tractor will fit on a 5x8 trailer is if it was in pieces. Have fun hauling it home. Ed Wieging

The front axle on an Industrial is set back farther than the B and the overall length is the same, but it will fit on a shorter trailer. The extra weight is from the massive metal frame that surrounds the whole front of the tractor.
