Dan, I purchased a 1940 AC WC with loader for $310. The tractor did not run but the engine was loose. I finally had it running for a few minutes a couple weeks ago but found a problem with the rocker arm which I almost have fixed now. Most of the things I had to do was clean up and paint, wiring and tires. So far I haven't put much more money in it but haven't replaced any tires yet. The WCs have hand brakes, but there is a conversion kit available to change to foot brakes. Don't know if this helps any but if the engine was loose I would probably purchase it if it was close by, but with the engine locked that will depend on how much work you are willing to do. You will not be able to have it done and come out ok, because these tractors are good but don't have a high value. Just my 2 cents worth.

Guess it depends what your goal is. I have a 1948 WC that runs good has new back tires and is set up with 2 way hydraulics for $1100. All it needs is a little sheetmetal massage and paint. A $350 tractor may sound tempting but by the time you take care of the motor do some tire work and get the painting done you will be in the $2000 to $2500 area. John
