Time to replace the rear tires on my B. I now use
9.5x24 but they look small. Does anyone use 11.2
tires and how do they fit on the rims. Best I can
tell with the tires on, the rims are 9" wide. It
should have a 10" rim for 11.2 tires to be right.
Thanks for any information and opinions.

Does anyone have a recommendation on the rim size for 11.2 x 24 tires?

10" is recommended, but 9" is still okay.

Does 10" seem a little wide?

When I got my C it had 12.4's mounted on 9" rims.

The rims and one tire was no good.

It sounds like your changing the tires for aesthetics. If thats the case, what kind of condition are the 9 tires in? I am in need of a set of rear tires and $$$ are short. Where are you located.--JPM

Sorry I'm using the tires on the front of my 4x4
tractor. I ordered 9.5 BFG from Miller Tire today
Decided to stick with the smaller tires to save
on cost and shipping. Thanks for all the opinions.

I don't know how or what you use the tractor for but remember that if you go up to that large of a tire the speed in each gear will increase. If you use it in the field the traction will be better but will seem to have less power pulling a heavy load.

The 11.2s will work just fine. This is the same size as the old 10-24s. I have 9.5s on my B & one C & 11.2s on two other Cs. I do like the larger tires better.

I have 11.2's on my 1949 B and they look just right. I have another B with a 12.4 on it and that looks too big, and I agree that a 9.5 looks small on the tractor.

Then again I have 13.6's (I think that's right - they are bigger than the 12.4's) on my CA with fluid in them (did that for more speed in the field - it worked to some degree ... and didn't hurt the power much at all).

A few extra inches of height won't make much difference in speed, but it will add a little.
