I surf more than 1 bulletin board each day and you say that you can't. I do agree that it is a pain but there is ways around the sensorship issues. If you put a space between each latter it will be posted (i.e. w w w. e x a m p l e . c o m ). Be creative and stick around.

I agree with you. I don't have a problem with the policies of this site. It's a great site with a wealth of information, including outside this particular forum. I link to other sites routinely here and in a couple of the other local forums. The issue only comes about in linking to or mentioning other sites that advertise or sell tractor parts that are also sold by those who provide the funding for this site. Competitors in other words. There is no particular reason why this site should, in effect, provide free advertising assistance for its' competitors. That seems perfectly understandable to me. I do not consider it censorship in any way, just acceptable business practice.

While I have found such a policy frustrating on a couple of specific occaisions, I am not about to pack up and leave because of it. Just too much good to be had here. Of course direct email is a possible workaround if the matter is significant enough for someone to provide an email address. And there is always the classified ads section for wanted-to buy and for sale items. I've noticed that links to other old engine sites on the stationary engine forum are permissible, probably because that stuff is outside the market area of this site.
