I just bought a Buda forklift today; has a 4cyl gas engine; is fairly small. Sorry, I didn't copy down the model number but can supply that tomorrow. Didn't realize AC bought Buda until I started the web search. I'm curious the age, capacity, etc. of the machine. Any info deeply appreciated!

Here's the numbers: Mod FB2024; Serial 0152-4-52; Engine number (hard to read, may have errors)896056.

Got it running today; runs like new! Generator even works. Battery too dead to start it; hopefully new 6V battery will.

Lew, i dont know much about it, but i can tell you that ALLIS wanted a big diesel engine for its construction equipment after WW II. About 1950 they started talking to two companies, Cummins and BUDA. Ended up buying BUDA (looks like Cummins made the right choice). So in the mid 50s they got the diesle engines and probably the rest of BUDA. I guess the -52 in your serial number means 1952, just a guess. I worked for Allis Construction equipment in the mid 1970 and all the big dozers and wheel loaders had diesels. They said ALLIS on the side, but everyone still called them "BUDA".

I kind of guessed that might be the case; any guesses what the capacity might be? Doubt it would be over a ton but this stuff can be deceiving. First one I've ever seen without a "weight capacity plate" on it; no plates noticeably missing.

i have no idea how big it is. i can tell you at work i have a battery operated AC fork truck about 1950 version. front tires are solid, maybe 14 inches in diameter, bakc are solid, about 8 inches diameter. it is 5 ft long, 36 inches wide and lifts about 8 ft and it is rated at 4000 pounds!! still runs great.
