Does anyone know whether it is possible and economical to use the belt pulley shaft to power an add-on hydraulic pump (coupled with a fluid reservoir) to provide modern hydraulic capacity to my 1952 CA with it's loader? If so, does somebody handle that type of pump?

Back in the late 40's my uncle had a B with a wagner loader that he used to load snow, sand and gravel for various concern's. The B had a Charr LYnn pump mounted on the PTO. For the time frame involved, the unit worked very well

the problem with a PTO pump is that it is still powered thru the clutch and the pump stops just like your present pump, when the clutch is pushed in. if you are going to the expense of a new pump, put it in front of the engine below the radiator and power from the cranshaft with a short drive shaft. yes, i have seen several tractors that use this setup, no i dont know of a specific setup for the CA. I believe you have to do some mofdification and bracket making to get these to "fit" your specific tractor, be it a CA, WD45, or FORD.
