WD horsepower

I bought a 1950 WD from a gentleman a few months back. He had rebuilt the motor a while ago and put in a 45 crank, and cam, and oversized 45 pistons and sleeves. How much more power would this have? Thanks for your info.

Probably around 48 to 50

That would be my guess, you made a 45 engine, then added an over bore for a few more cubes and HP.

The WD45 was rated at 43 belt hp (the WD was 34 belt hp as you noted). So 43+ belt hp probably - maybe a little more depending on what "extra" work was done. So compare the 43 hp and 34 hp numbers directly. You'll *really* notice the extra - I did when I would switch between a WD and a WD45 we used to have.
