Yesterday I bought an a-c model C. I was wondering if I could get any extra power out of it. I want to leave the bore\stroke original.
Any ideas would help. Thank you!

I don't know how but my father, a farmer-mechanic is getting 39.87 H.P. at the Dyno at the pulls.
It is turning 2,500 RPM and has D17 jets in the carb. I think higher rpm and maybe CA or WD jets
will work like a charm.....a powerful Charm!

compression ratio is about 6 to 1 so you can plane about 1/16 inch or a little more off the head (maybe .100) to get up to 9 or 9.5 to 1. you can port out the intake and exhaust ports to get more flow thru the head, then you can readjust the governor and install a slightly bigger carb jet to get 2-300 more RPM out of the motor. you can push it ia little harder if you want to take the risk. might talk to Dick L. on this board, he pulls the C and dose quite a bit of modification. Look back thru the old post till you find his e-mail. HE is alway willing to advise.

Don't know too much about C engines, have one but haven't taken it apart or thought of hot rodding it. But could you use pistons from the CA or later engines with more compression?
