Help replacing WD brakes

i had new pads put on my WD brakes, now i am having trouble putting them back on. i have the pin in the bottom, but i can't get the top fastened back together. i loosened the adjustment nut but still can't get them fastened. can someone help?

I just did my WD brakes without any problems like this. Perhaps the linings you had put on are too thick? I used linings from Central Tractor and they work fine. You have to get those two halves back together correctly though. They kind of mesh like siscors when they close. Be sure they are overlapping correctly (I am speaking of the front and rear halfs of the shoes). I assembled mine while I had them out to be sure they fit correctly and then checked them carefully when I put them together. You have to back out the equlizing screws on the rear casting pretty far also. This is a pretty simple job....provided you can get those lower pins out in the first place! That's where the battle usually is!

Tommy, I was hoping that someone would come up with the answer by now. Maybe I should get at mine and see if I encounter the same problem. I'll keep looking for a response from someone who has been there and done that.
