I am considering purchasing an AC Model 440 tractor. This tractor has a cummins deisel engine and I am wondering if anyone has any pro/con information related to this machine. The tractor runs ok, and hydraulics work. Does anyone know what size offset disc this tractor would pull? Thanks, Merf

I believe it was built by Steiger. Cummins is a very dependable engine. 440 had a good reputation for its day. Maybe not the conveniences of more recent models, but good solid, dependable power. Sometimes simpler is better, and nothing beats a Cummins for power and lugging, especially the 855. V8 might be another story (555- or was it a V6?). Why have so many mfgrs quit making their own and gone to Cummins?
