was just about to pull the trigger on purchasing some replacement fenders when I found an add in local paper for a 53 wd 450.00 bucks.Looking it over it had near perfect fenders and very good sheetr medal. It ran out good but needs an exhaust manifold gasket. What really surprised me was it had all the correct lights including one that was mounted on the rear of the tool box hanging on the fender. Never seen one like that. So another tractor in the shed and had to convince the wife what a good deal we got on new fenders.

Never saw a WD with the tail light hanging on the rear of the tool box? Am I reading it wrong or do you mean the light is on the fender?

Congrats on a real good find!!

The fact that he found such a deal on the tractor AND his wife lets him drag em home... now that is lucky.

I guess I'm only half as lucky.. I'm just married.

Today's Featured Article - Third Brush Generators - by Chris Pratt. While I love straightening sheet metal, cleaning, and painting old tractors, I use every excuse to avoid working on the on the electrics. I find the whole process sheer mystery. I have picked up and attempted to read every auto and farm electrics book with no improvement in the situation. They all seem to start with a chapter entitled "Theory of Electricity". After a few paragraphs I usually close the book and go back to banging out dents. A good friend and I were recently discussing our tractor electrical systems when he stated "I figure it all comes back to applying Ohms Law". At this point ... [Read Article]
