WD45 Seat?

Just recently bought a '56 WD45 and the seat is sort of shaped like the pan seat on my '50 WD, but the 45 seat is much smaller, painted an off-white, or light biege, and is hinged to the right side. When it flips up, it does so towards the right fender.

Can anybody tell me if this is the correct original seat for this tractor? Was it an option on the 45? Am planning to do something of a restoration with this tractor over the winter, but I'm still in the process of evaluating just what I have.

Any additional information would be much appreciated!

Thanks, Good Day!

Never heard of such as factory equipment. My '57 has the original which isn't hinged.

My parts book says there was no hinge. 45 seat has a curved mounting bar with a slot adjustment for the position of the top of the shock. Lower shock mount and hinge for seat bar are one piece bolted down by the brake cover bolts, seperate on WD. Seat itself has the same part no.

The hinge for the seat was not origonal equipment. I have one on my WD45 but was an aftermarket product Don't remember who manufactured it . John
