I just found an allis RC the other day. THe tractor is in pretty rough shape. It doesn't look to have run for years, as the manifold is completely rusted away. The right side brake lever seems to not be working at all, and the right side rear wheel and tire are missing. It has the original seat and back, and also some form of mid mount hydralic lift, but no pto. then tin and grill are very rough, and the rear fenders are shot. The trans seems to be stuck in gear. The rear rim on the tractor is shot. The worst thing that i noticed is that the support for the drawbar has been welded to the rear. The owner wants around 200 for it. It also has electic start, but no lights. Is this rare enough to be worth fixing? Are parts as readily availible as other allis parts? Sorry for such a long question but i wanted to eplain the conition thoroughly.

The RC was a WC tractor frame with a B/C engine, and different (slower) rear end. Cheaper alternative to a WC- lower priced, but didn't catch on. So many WC parts fit. Did not have hydraulics- the lift you mentioned is a mechanical lift for the cultivator, runs off a shaft in the torque tube. Similar to a wheel lift on a pull-type plow. Tractor was made about '39-41. Underpowered for most uses. Good one to collect, for those reasons.

Just take a look at how many you see in the photo gallery,...not many! (less than half a dozen of the hundreds of others)

You didn't mention if the engine was stuck or free, this could matter a lot. The transmission could have a bunch of water in it if the boot on the shift lever isn't in good condition. This could by why the shift lever is stuck, rust. Or there could be pressure on the drive train. It sounds like a parts tractor, but on the other hand, parts are around and it is rare, only about 5000 made. It comes down to do you like it. You can buy one running for less than it would cost you to fix this one probably, but that isn't always the point. Making it a tractor again is part of it, do you want a fun project? Or do you just want a tractor. I have been working for 3 or more years on my WD, just got it running, still have a lot to do, it includes parts from one tractor, one 2/3 tractor and one 1/2 tractor, some new parts, a lot of time on my part, and more money than I would have spent on a running WD. But I am enjoying myself, will have a tractor that I brought back from the dead, and that is why I am doing it instead of just buying a tractor. Own a model B with my brother that we use for the work around here, snowplowing, gathering wood, etc. so I don't NEED it. I would say go for it, but unless the engine is free I wouldn't want to pay $200, maybe 100 max. More like 50. But then I spent more than that on my parts tractor, had stuff I needed, so what you pay is what it is worth to you at the time. Good luck.
