Sickle bar mower off WD45?

I have the chance to get two old sickle bar assemblies with the "tounge hitch" under the tractor. These i am told were off a WD45. I have not seen them. I have a B tractor and was thinking of looking for a sickle that i could belly mount. FOr those familiar with the large sickle-----
-how "big" of unit can a B handle
-can you trim down a sickle from 7 or 8 to 5-6 feet?
-should i chop it and mount on the belly of the B
-would it be more economical to "fix" and sell then buy a smaller unit
--these might get for free. was told two could be used to make one good one.
-dont know much about sickle mowers, sorry for the dumb questions.

Sounds like you have the #7 mower. Way too much work to make into a B/C mower. I would sell them and buy a B mower. They are quite common. If you live near WA I would trade you.

I have a B belly sickle mower if you're still looking. I bought a non-running B and took the sickle mower off so I could work on the tractor. It looks like it is all there including the pulley for the back and a front lift hydraulic cylinder. I have since decided to sell the B. Unfortunately I never got it started but I did put new rear rims and tires on it. I would sell the tractor and mower for $750 or just the mower for $75.I live 20 miles East of Wichita,KS.
