My Grandad's CA

Two years ago I inherited my grandfather's 1950's CA, a real piece of history. It would not start (was stored for three years with gas in it). I sprayed WD-40 into the cylinders and stored it under a tarp, but now I'm ready to work on it. Anyone know where I can get a carb rebuild kit, or is it sufficient to just clean out the carb with Gumout?

It doesn't matter how far away they are . Sandy Lake 724-376-2489 will ship any where. They are next day UPS for me. I save time, gas and sales tax (I am out of state for them). That pays for shipping. It is especially nice if they have to order something , I don't have to make TWO trips

Todd, That's great you inherited your Grand Dads tractor. Pretty cool to keep a family airloom in the family. Especially a AC tractor!! We have some carb rebuilding kits in stock, depending on which carb it has whether a Zenith or Marvel Schebler. Drop us a line if interested. We can probably help ya out...

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the offer of checking whether you have a rebuild kit available. I have a Zenith carb on my CA. If you have a kit, what does it include? I believe that float in the carb is leaky.

Good point, for some of us our "local" AGCO dealer is 150 miles away.

Today's Featured Article - An Old-Time Tractor Demonstration - by Kim Pratt. Sam was born in rural Kansas in 1926. His dad was a hard-working farmer and the children worked hard everyday to help ends meet. In the rural area he grew up in, the highlight of the week was Saturday when many people took a break from their work to go to town. It was on one such Saturday in the early 1940's when Sam was 16 years old that he ended up in Dennison, Kansas to watch a demonstration of a new tractor being put on by a local dealer. It was an Allis-Chalmers tractor dealership, ... [Read Article]
