I have a model B that sat outside a couple of years without being turned over, it appears to be seized up. my local autoparts dealer suggested putting vinegar in the cylinders to free it up ??? . Has anyone ever heard of this ? or does anyone have any other ideas ? the tractor run like a top before my ex moved it out of inside storage. thanks in advance for the help Greg

Take out spark plugs, soak cylinders with PB, put hand crank in it and put floor jack under crank, take weight of tractor off ground and let set that way. In a few days it may not be stuck.

My '44 SC Case had a flat rear tire & we needed to pump the $@** fluid out of it to get it fixed, so it sat from one fall through 2 winters & the summer in between before we got to it. It was "froze" when we went to fix the tire last summer. Took out the plugs, sprayed PB Blaster (lots) into the combustion chamber, loosely replaced plugs, left her set for a couple of weeks, removing plugs & adding more PB every time we thought of it. Had the rear end jacked up working on the tire, so we rocked on the wheel w/it in gear, both forward & back, finally got a little movement, put the crank to her & got it loose. Changed oil, added 1 qt of rislone to 5 gal gas, pull started it & went to the field to move grain wagons. Next time we went to start it, she started w/starter. Still running & no apparent problems. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)

go down to your boat dealer and buy a can of storage sealer. take the pugs out and spray it in each spark plug hole, then take your crank and try turning. you may have to do it two or three times. I have a 50 dodge truck motor and c aliss that i freed up use it. good luck

Last August my daughter pulled our '37 WC through our local parade on a trailer while I drove our WD45. (tractor, a June purchase, was running at midnite before the parade). Four inch rain during the parade. Stuck the engine. All winter I tried- Coke, diesel fuel, WD40, PB blaster. No luck. Sunday- I pulled it apart- still needs the rod caps pulled, jack up the pistons, etc. No shortcuts. Do it right, pull the head, etc.

Greg, My B was siezed when I bought it a few years ago. I tryed all kinds of witches brews to try to get it loose, but to no avail. It was just as tight as a ducks butt, so I wound up taking the head off as Mike suggested. You probably won't have to go through what I went through. My little B had water in all the cylinders! She sat outside for about 6 years, so I wound up putting new sleeve kits in and doing the engine over. If ya need a head gasket, we have them in stock seperately... Good Luck! And take yer' time. Before ya know it, she'll be runnin' again!Steve/B&B Custom Circuits

Greg the safest way is to go ahead and take off the head and it will be obvious which one got the water in it. Go ahead and clean up the cyl's from the piston up on all and take a razor blade to cut the rust seal between the piston and the cyl wall on the offending cyl. Then take out the starter and gently pry one way and then the other. You'll get it worked free and then clean the rest of the cyl walls and go ahead and put it together. Doing it this way you can fix any valves that may be stuck, and the price of the head gasket is cheap and you'll know it's all good inside then. If you do the pull it and pop the clutch you may end up with bent/broken rods and who knows what else. I like diesel and PB blaster the best. Good luck and let us know how it works out. Mike

This has happened to me as well a couple of times. Mike is right on with the advice. This website has a good article on just this problem with some suggestions for solvents to free up the pistons. Vinegar won't hurt, but equal parts auto trans fluid, mavel mystery oil and kerosene may work better.
