the carb on my friends wd acts as if the float is stuck. he bought a new or shoould i say different carb and has the same problem. the float seems to set properly. any suggestions?

the problem with the carb is gas won't shut off with the float. it is as if the float is stuck open. it is a new carb my friend bought and does the same thing of letting gas run through. thanks for any help.

Well you don't say what the actual problem is except to say it "acts" like the float is stuck. Does it drip gas, flood the intake, die for lack of gas or what? Could be the choke linkage is set up wrong, could be the air intake is plugged somewhere so it acts like it is being choked, could be the float valve is sticking (on both carbs) could be dirty, plugged fuel line, filter, tank outlet. You can get a carb rebuild kit for about $30, well worth it. Really need to know the symptoms better to help.
