D15 3pt lift

My D15 3pt hitch stays in the up position all the time regardless of the position of the control lever. Is there an on line source that shows the linkage so I can trouble shoot the problem. Or is there a common cause for this problem that I don't know about??

Spend about 15 bucks for the OPERATOR manual and learn how to operate the tractor. Service manual is what you need when you need to know how to fix it. First you need to now how to make operating adjustments.

Have you tried lowering the lever right under it? Seems to me if that one's up, the lift stays up. It's for draft control or something. Still waiting on my Operators manual. Hope this helps.

You need the operator's manual - and a service manual wouldn't hurt. Two possibilities here -t eh first, as AC in SC says, is that the draft control lever is all the way up. The lever on top of the dash quadrant is the draft control, the longer lever behind it is the normal lift lever used to raise and lower.

The second possibility - whihc I'd guess is the problem - is that the traction booster (draft control) linkage is out of adjustment of may have a bent connecting rod somewhere. If it puts pressure on the linkage like there's a hard pull all the time the 3ph will stay up.

The manual will help you get it adjusted right. I have a WD45 with the same problem since I swapped trannies in it - just haven't had time to adjust it between work and baling hay ....!
