Hi. My name is Steve and I live in Southeast Wisconsin. I am about to convert a WD to 12 volts, and eventually electronic ignition. First I need to locate a source for oil filters and a waterpump. This machine has sat collecting dust for around 5 years (or more), The filter and H2O Pump are the first two items on my list that I cannot seem to locate with good results. Actually, one source for waterpump so far, but still digging. I don't mind shopping online and a semi-local source can be helpful for sure. I appreciate everyones input to help my shopping adventure.

Steve

I have also read to use the Agco filter, but I havent found any dealers close by. I checked and I do have on an original style filter, even with a small bit of rag caught in the standpipe as we speak.
I tried emailing some dealers in other states, including one who had been listed as a good choise with reasonable prices in a post quite a while back.
I can tell you that his prices are no longer in the reasonable pricerange that I had expected!

I did try the nearby Farm&Fleet for the waterpump, and thats where I got the name of a rebuilder: www.cardone.com. I emailed them to ask where (if any) I might find a vendor that carried thier line of rebuilt waterpumps, and the model I need. Unfortunalty the answer is to telephone thier customer service department. I dont understand why they can answer with directions like that and not just give the the information I asked for in the first place. Oh Well.
My search continues.
Steve

AGCO does not make filters, they buy them like everybody else. What you need to do is open the box and examine the filter construction and material. Dont matter if it came from AGCO, NAPA, Farm and Fleet, or WAl Mart.

There is a rebuilder or two in the USA that rebulds water pumps for old farm tractors and other stuff. I have information about one of them but don't know where I have it at this time.
I got a water pump for a WD-45 through the local Acgo dealer (now out of business) and they sold me a water pump from this rebuilder. They left the pump in the original shipping box so that was how I got the company and distributor name.

Steeve--Ive read alot of posts about oil filters on the wd 45 most of them recomend sticking with the agco filters. Something about they hold better oil pressure with agco filters.

Steve,

Rebuilt pump can be bought for $80. Oil filters at local AGCO dealer or parts houses. I'll email specifics.

I buy filters at the local Farm Center, but a lot of guys get them at NAPA. Seams like they also carry gaskets, rings, plugs, points, etc for old traactors, or can get them. Go to the old posts and look for a company Sandy Lake Equipment for old parts. They probalby advertise on this page somewhere.
