AC model 2000 plow 4-16 vs JD F145 4-16 -- Which is a better overall plow? JD might be in slightly better shape, however the monoframe construction on the AC appears like a better built unit. Will one handle better in cornstalk residue? Any feeback would greatly be appreciated.

Clearance under the frame is part of what determines how well any plow handles cornstalks. Just measure from the plowshare point to the underside of the plow frame. Also, the fore to aft dimension. I.E.: the distance from one plow point to the one to the rear. Longer distance gives more time for the residue to pass through the frame. Downside is:longer distance of the load = more power required to pull the load.
