Is there an online source for specs on AC tractors? I need the hp, displacement etc. of my D14. Is there anyone here who knows how much trouble and expense is involved in fixing a D14 that pops out of 3rd gear continuously. It actually has to be held in 3rd gear at all times so something has to be done about it. Thank you. Joe

I have a D 14 wich is same transmittion as D15 i recently tore it down and fixed the gears. I sent my gears to a machine shop in McConnell Ill. He rebuilds The gears. Says he does about 20 A.C tractor a year.I had all 4 forward gears rebuilt plus the shift collars for less than $600. Agco wanted almost $1900 for just the new gears. As far as tearing the tractor down it really isnt that bad a job if you are at all mechanically inclined. I dont have His number. Unfortunately the gear popping is a problem among the D15, 14, 12 & 10 tractors and the fix can be expensive. Good gears are hard to find and expensive even if you do the work yourself. I've read of costs up to $3k and some still pop out.....as for technical info, Norm Swinford's book or Terry Dean's data book are good hard copy references that also contain loads of information on other models as well.

My D15 pops out of 3rd gear not as yours does, but like others (downhill). However, I've never read how to fix it yet! So any info you find, please pass it on.

Our D-15 also slips out of third gear going downhill without a load. Guess you have to spilt the tractor and replace the gear.
