How tough is it to replace kingpin bushings on a WD? Also, where can the bushings be purchased, and how much do they normally cost?

Thanks.

Appreciate the help and the warnings!! It did look like it would be simple, but you just can't overlook hands-on experience. Thank you very much.

I did some work on my D17 - they should not be that different. The bushings from ArCO were about $11 each. I did have some problems however. One of the king pins was wore - I had to have built up with weld and turned back down . The second thing is the bushings are pressed in - you most likely will have to have a reamer go through it after to get every thing to fit together. Oh yes one more problem I had to use a special puller to get the old bushings out. The job could be much more complicated than it looks. Special tools such as presses, reamers and pullers that most people do not have at home. You should have a machine shop lined up just in case.

Do you mean the bushings in the wide front of a WD? Get them at the AC, or now AGCO dealer. Not hard to put $100 into replacing the bushings in those front ends.
