I bought a A.C. tractor with these numbers on it.
Please tell me about it. Numbers WD 232021GA, AM-3634-6 CH 1, 03019-31, 20088l or 200831,AM-3651-1, and 7-27-48. Please tell me about it. I want to fix it up and use it. I also am getting another one that the gentlemen told it it was a C. I pick it up tomorrow.

I truly enjoy finding out all the information on old tractors. I got into your site by searching for tractors.

I appreciate the people who have given this information. Thanks for any help you can give me. Linda - behappylsa

What you really need is to get yourself a set of factory manuals, or reprints. Owners manual, repair manual, and if you can find one a parts manual is usefull. It looks like a 1957 WD-45. AC tractors are known for having a lot of power for their size and weight and snappy governors. The 45 is the latest of the WC, WD, WD-45 line and maybe one of the all time best tractors made. The 45 had many improvements that the earlier tractors didn't have. It has within a fraction of 45 hp. First thing to do is to change all the oil. Engine, hydraulic, transmission/rearend, and final drives. Especially the final drives are neglected by many owners and the oil can be really nasty.

The C is also a fine tractor, little brother to the bigger ACs. First there was Bs, then Cs, which were mainly wider, then CAs. Bs and Cs had 3 speeds while CAs had 4. All are good little tractors, handy and powerfull.

Poke around the Yesterday's tractor site, ask questions here, take care of your fine tractors, and enjoy them. You have two good ones, especially the 45.

The AM #s are probably raised # on pieces of the tractor that were case, hense they are refered to a Casting numbers. When you are replacing a portion of your tractor that is cracked or broken that has one of these AM #s, you would be asking for that casting #. As for the other #s, I am not knowledgable on them.

Linda,

Welcome to one of the best sites on the net for learning, maintaining and just socializing about old iron.

It sounds like you have is possibly a 1957 WD45 because of the WD before the only set of numbers that look like a serial number. One of the more knowlegable WD owners can confirm where the SN is located.

The B's C's and CA's are easier for me because the SN of those is just forward of the shifter. B's start with (can you guess...?) B#######, C's start with a 'C' and CA's start with a CA.

I'm about 80% through a restoration of a 1938 B model. [picture attached]

Your C model will probably be a narrow front.

Again, welcome to the board.

Looks like your restoration is coming along real nice. I'm just getting a building finished and hope to be into a little of that by winter. I hope your picture color is a little off, parts of the tractor look yaller. I saw one like that in real life and nearly lost my supper. Lookin' good!
