I mowed last night with my CA and noticed that the oil pressure was about 5 lbs. Last summer it was higher than that...like maybe 8 or 9. I changed the oil this spring and the Carquest filter that i got was not cotton inside like they used to be. I didn't think too much of that but does anybody think that will affect the oil pressure?? I'm thinking if this paper filter is more free flowing, then the oil pressure may be less. But then again, installing a cotton filter that has more restriction and raises the oil pressure is just false security isn't it? what do you guys think? should I change it?

Guys, Thanks very much, I'll change it out right away and go back to the cotton style. there's no use risking this tractor because of a filter. DUey, the filter on the right is the one that i put on recently. thanks for the pictures. Thanks, Kent

Filter on the right will give lower pressure.

the filter on the B-C-CA has been known to change the pressure drastically. The oil in the CA does not go thru the filter and then to the motor bearings like a car. Allis has 15% of the flow bleads off thru the filter and returns to sump. IF the filter or tube in the filter is changed, or bad, you can drain more oil thru the filter to sump, and loss of pressure internal. MIght be worth a try to change it out.
