Hi Steve/John Was reading the forum this evening, (catchin' up) and I came across your conversation of a couple of days ago. We've got our little C back in fine, running form, and John, when I went to see about changing the oil filter, there was an Autolite filter on it (I believe....trying this from memory now....the number was 4007). It has a special spin on threaded lip to it (sort reminded me of an old mason jar...turn the jar upside down with the lid on the table and this became the "holder" for the oil filter with the jar being the element)...anyway....I went to our local tractor supply store here in St. Joe, Michigan and he pulled it off the shelf. So it's not a big deal. Steve, a question for you. You talked about the transmission/hydraulic fluid and it's servicing. This is next on my list, and I think I understand what you told John about it, but were you suggesting that you drain the old oil, refill with new, run it a bit, then drain it again and refill? Is there any danger in cavitating the hydraulic pump? And this trans-hydraulic fluid..is it a delcon (think this is what I'm trying to say) or Ford, or does it matter? Or is it something else altogether. Sure enjoy talkin' and readin' the forum. You fellas have a nice day. We're getting anxious to get some of the vegetables and flowers planted, but we had a dusting of snow Monday after Easter! Dave
