I have recently acquired a 1952 Model WD that leakes oil front and rear. I pulled the pan and the rear main bearing cap. The 3/16" wide felt/neopreme seal is intact and in good shape. Then I noticed that the main bearing cap (and engine block) have what appears to be a channel which could accomodate a 5/16" wide felt seal. Intruding into that channel is a machined ring around which would appear to complete the rear seals. Question is, are there two rear oil seals on a 1952 Model WD crankshaft? Thanks for your help. Did mine a year or so ago, looking in the manual as I don't remember all that good, it looks like there is two grooves, however the front one is for an oil slinger on the crank. If you look at the crankshaft it should have a flange that throws oil off before it can get back to the seal. The seal should go in the rear groove.
