The 226 was first used in the WD-45. Later it was used in D-17s and finally the 175. It is a great moter. Also the 201 WD and WC engines would bolt in.

For used Allis parts, engines, information and etc. contact Larry Swenson in Easton, MN. Ph. 507-787-2338. He requests that you call before 10:00 PM CDT and not on Sunday. (E-mail [email protected]) He is a real good guy to do business with.

Click 'Tractor Manuals', make sure 'Allis-Chalmers' is in the first search box and type 'D' in the second box, they click on Search. You should see a service manual offered for the grader. The Agco dealers here in rural MN still stock or can order lots of parts. I've never tried to get grader parts, but it is worth a try.

The model D used the AC G-226 engine rated at
58hp. Same engine used for diesel as well when
they came out in 1954.

Check with your AGCO dealer for AC parts. Where in MN are you- granted, fewer dealers around now, but you should still be able to get parts and service, and not have to switch engines.

I live in Hanover, MN., in Wright Co. I own a small asphalt paving co. I don't know much about Allis Chalmers Model D Graders. What other tractor motor is a swap to this one. There are plenty of JD and Case dealers in the area.

Go to AGCO's website and use their find dealer function to find the nearest AGCO-Allis dealer.
