Hi folks,

Am a first time poster & not to knowledgable.
Have a chance to pick up a reconditioned WD for next to nothing from a neighbor. Runs real nice, everything works fine.

My questions relates to the two point hitch...

What can you, in this day of 3 pt hitches, use a two point hitch for? Is there a mower that will work with it? (I have hilly pasture where that would be great).

What other things can you do with a two point?

Thank you, JMS, Sid, RW for the information.

I�m still new to the forum thing, will search for the info on conversion to 3 point, which appears to be the best tack. My thinkinb being I will be able to mount a post hole digger & mower to it...for now.

Going to go ahead with the purchase, just being able to use a dump box will be of extreme help right now as I set up my homestead.

Don�t really need or want the WD as a loader as I am looking for a used skid steer for those duties.

Appreciate you all taking the time, I�m going to do a new post on the best type of mower for the WD.

Just a point regarding terminology- so many refer to the AC having a two-point hitch. It is not. Farmall had a two-point hitch in the 50s. Two attaching points were used to lift and pull those implements. Farmall called their hitching system 'Fast Hitch'. AC used a Snap-Coupler system- two lift arms and a snap-coupler bell housing under the center of the tractor where the tongue of the mounted implement attached. Three-point hitch refers to the ASAE standard of attaching implements with two lower lift arms and an upper link, that complies with four different categories of dimensions. Older three-point hitch tractors usually fall under Category One or Two. Eventually the tractor industry went to the standard three-point system, and AC and Farmall dropped their own systems.

Just about anything built for a three point was also built for WD and other Allis Tractors Mowers plows dirt blades post hole diggers cultivators whatever. The catch is anyway they are not as easy to find as three point implements. The WD is a great tractor for pull type implements. Kits are available to convert to three point. Sid

It probably already has a draw bar attached to the two point. This can be used in the standard fashion. With the draw bar removed you can attach a three bottom plow, row crop cultivator and several other implements. The trouble is finding them in working order. The best thing you can do is to convert it to a three point hitch. There are several posts in the archives about this as well as three point websites to look at.
