How much mower is this capable of? I will be mowing grass before it gets high. How popular/accessible is a loader. Is it a good enough loader tractor for moving dirt, lifting things, loading a salt/sand spreader (3/4t p/u) etc....
Thankyou for your replies. DaveVB

Most sickle mowers for a D17 are 7', although some mfgrs made 9' bars for even smaller AC tractors. They don't take much power to operate. Many loaders available, either trip bucket or all hydraulic (if your D17 is set up properly for two-way cylinders) that will handle anything you need it for. After all, we used to farm with much smaller tractors than a D17. Now they are yard and loader tractors.
