I have a D-14 does anyone know if it was orginaly a 6 volt or 12 volt. The serial # is 4781

Yes, 6 volt positive ground. I have the original wiring diagram if you want ... but you don't. Do a 12 V conversion. I can't help you with that, though. I did my own, and it doesn't work that well. I wired the alternator directly to the battery, and I think it has a small short and drains it. I can probably get it to disconnect with a relay or something, but I haven't taken the time.

1957 model, 6 volt positive ground.
