My Freind has three Allis Chalmers. A (C) (WC) (D-19) but we do not know where to look for the serial numbers to find out what the year is. We do not know much about tractors but want to learn. Thanks for any help you all might have.

The best way to learn about your tractors is to get manuals for them. Owners manuals. Repair manuals, and if you can find them parts manuals. Reading a parts manual can teach you a lot if you really into the tractor. Reprints of factory manuals are usuall the best. Then after you have read the manuals you can ask questions here.

---the C serial number is next to the transmission shift lever.
---the WC serial number is on the rear axle cneter pumpkin.
---the D19 number is on the torque tube (clutch housing) behind the motor on the left side.
---left of the page "Research", then "serial number", then "Allis" to get dates.

Elliot, Above the forum window (the page your message appears on) are some headings
[Post a Message][View Archives] & [AC Info], etc
just click on that last one and you can find the model#, then click on it, and you'll see the SerNumbers and years of mfg.
