Hi frito, Sounds like you do have a model A tractor; Large 4 cyl engine, can have anywhere from a 4.75 cyl. bore to 5.25 .I had a model k crawler that used that same engine and I put 5.25 pistons in it. will check to see if I might have a factory shop manual for it. John

Thanks for the info. I was looking at pictures and ran across the CA model. the tractor in question looks like a ca. what kind of hydraulics did the ca have? was there a mid tractor lift for tools as well as rear lift with two cylinders.also what importance does the A in the tractor number have?

thanks for all the help. I identified the tractor in question as a '53 CA model. It has 11-36 inch tires for cane farming.Everything matches up to your descriptions. One more question. What kind of oil is used for the hydraulics. thinking about converting to 3 point hitch. thanks again for help.
