My friend just finished restoring a 47' B and was told to put in 10 weight fluid for the tranny/diff
which is shared with the hydraulic pump but is now getting bearing noise and thought may be because fluid too thin. What has this list found to be the correct fluid type to use fora "B" with hydralics?

Thanks in advance

I have an original B manual...the trans holds 6 qts of 20w oil with out hydraulics, 7 qts with
hydraulics.

I put 30W non-detergent in my B as 20W is kinda hard to come by where I live, the 30W works fine and helps to quiet things down. Just be certain to use ONLY NON-Detergent oil as detergent oil will foam.
I also suggest you take a look at the online book "The Little Allis" It is very informative and helpful.

There seems to be about as many answers to this question as there are people asking. Since I have been reading here I have seen at least a dozen. I like what is in the On Line Book: The Little A-C's (At Yesterday's Tractors Magazine, Article Archives, General Tractor Information). Just click down through the menu. This book answers many of the questions that all of us who own one of these tractors have. The best part is that you can copy it and there is no cost.

Shawn
The AC B should 6 quarts of 20W NON-DETERGENT motor oil. Hope this helps. 10W is to light.
