Does anyone know what a WD-45 widefront weighs without implements? It has 13.6 x 28 tires on it if that makes any difference. Thanks for any help.

Donnie

Standard size tire was 12-28 (now marked 13.6-28. It was common to go with the oversize tire: 13-28 (now marked 14.9-28). Shipping weight was around 4400 lbs.

Why did the Nebraska test WD45 use 14.9x28 tires? I assumed that was standard size.

I'm reasonably sure that if you check the operator manual for specs you'll find the 12-28 was standard. Granted, you don't see many with the smaller tire, because the 13 inch option was a big advantage to gain traction. I have a WD manual, not the WD45, but if memory serves me correct for the one that Dad bought in 1956, the 13 inch rubber was considered oversize.

Seems like small tires. Stock, I'm pretty sure, were 14.9 28. Mine weighs about #4,000 without any fluid in tires.

Depends if the tires are loaded or not. The shipping weight from the factory was 4400# but I'm sure that was with tires loaded.
