Got an old D-14 been sitting quite a few years. Pulled the pan had some crude but not bad. Put on new gasket put in oil turned over engine with head off and no filter. Can't get it to bring up oil? What next? I can blow through oil tubes.

Might want to pull the pan again and take the screen off of the oil pump and see how it looks. You can also pull the bottom of fof the pump and see how bad it is. if there was crud in the pan, it might be worse in the pump, to the point where it won't suck. Shouldn't have to worry about prime, it's a gear pump and runs in oil, so if there is oil at the pump, then it's always primed.

Sounds like you lost the prime on the pump. You may have to take the pan back down, remove the pump, pour oil in the pump to prime. You may get lucky and be able to put oil in the hole at the filter mount and blow air in it to push oil into the pump. Good luck
