Hi, my name is Stephen, I'm sixteen and I’m new to Allis Chalmers and don’t know very much about them. My question is I just traded an AC.B. With rebuilt motor it ran and drove very good,
I even pulled it once last year and it beat about 6-7 other AC B’s. Anyway I painted it up real nice and, made a trade with a man and we delivered the tractor to him. He had the tractor a couple of days and e-mailed me and said that he did not think that the tractor had any oil pressure, He took of the oil filter and said there was no oil in the filter, but the dipstick said the tractor was full of oil . This man is a very good and honest, and I do not doubt that he is telling the truth. Any help or answers to this problem that I have will be greatly appreciated . You can see the tractor on my web page .

Thanks very much . Stephen G

at the right rear corner of the motor is a 1/4 inch pipe that comes up from the oil pump thru the rear of the eingine block. you need to take the elbow off the top of the pipe and crank motor a couple of revolutions and see if anything come out. if not, then pump oil into the pipe down to the pump with a squirt gun. probably the vibration of the motor during the trip home mad oil run back into pan and motor needs reprimed. Once oil is evident at this elbow, see if you have pressure. also loosen the small oil tube going to the valves in the head and see if it drips there. If you have oil, and the filter dont have it (pressure), then look at the tube in the filter.

Nice web site. Good looking B also. I had the oil filter problem once myself and found that the small tube that goes up through the center of the filter was clogged with a small amount of rust. It has very small holes in it and this could easily happen especially if it ever sat for a period of time. The small tube can be pulled out of the housing with a pair of pliers and easily be cleaned out. If there is truly no oil pressure it should be noted by the oil pressure gauge and also a knocking sound within the engine would be heard which would not be a good condition to have. Also make sure the oil lines to the filter housing are not clogged. Mine was running fine even though there was no oil going through the filter until I unclogged the tube. Good luck....John ...PS I used to live in Andover, Maine and my mom still lives there.....Long winters.....
