I know this isn't an antique yet, but I thought this would be one of the better places to get an answer. I would like to know what the horse power rating of an AC 185 is. I've talked to a hand full of people and I've been told 60 to 80 HP. I looked on ebay for old AC brochures and found one for a 160 and it stated that it was 40HP. Saying that,60HP for a 185 could be right, but the tractor I'm looking at is a 6 cyl., hoss-daddy of a tractor and I find it hard to belive that it could be only 60 HP. Any other info that anyone would like to add about these tractors would be great. The tractor I'm looking at is in very good shape, has about 4100 hours and has spin out rims and one set of wet lines. It's on the verge of being to big of a tractor, but the price is almost too good to pass up.

Today's Featured Article - A City Guy's First Tractor - by Fred Hambrecht. After living in apartments in Atlanta for more years than I care to remember, the wife and I decided to move to the country. Humming "Green Acres is the place for me..." we purchased a 29 acre tract about 60 miles south of Atlanta. Next came the house, I could talk about that ordeal for another two weeks... But, I want to talk about my tractor! We didn't even own a lawnmower, and all of a sudden we had enough grass to feed all the starving children of the bovine world. Naturally, I talked ...
