Hope some can enlighten me. I have an Allis Chalmers I-60 Industrial Tractor. It's got a loader and backhoe, and I believe is a '68. This one is a diesel. I NEVER have seen this tractor anywhere, nor any mention of its existence. No one seems to list parts for this model. The tractor is 100% working after having replaced the clutch, and I was able to get the service manual for it, but it seems I have the only one. Anyone know what I really have? Anyone else have one or have seen one?

Thanks in advance for any information...

Graham,
The I60 was an industrial version of the D-15 Series II. Built in '65 and '66, they had a box-shaped grille to distinguish them from the farm tractors. They had a .75 or .875 yd. front loader and an optional 15 ft. backhoe. Other options were a forklift with 12 or 21 ft. reach.
There were 1,335 built in those 2 years, then the designation was changed to I-600. Beginning S/N is 1005 and ending S/N is 2340.

No, you do not have the only one. I have one in Colorado that I have for use on my property(2.5 acres) to do terrascaping. Unfortunately, it is in constant need of repair as I am finding out. It seems the former owner did not think to maintain his equiptment. Hope that you are having better luck. My latest search is for a REASONABLY priced and or affordable and available starter for it. I have also found out that the gas engine it has lacks power at 9,500ft.

I think I have the only one in Ohio. I am looking for a starter for my AC I-60. Would you happen to know where I could find one? Do you know of a cross reference tractor as it is hard to find information on an I-60? -Bill

Graham,
The I-60 was a popular industrial machine in these parts of NY State. A company (closed now)
named C.V. Pierce in Pleasantville NY sold a number of them. I ran the backhoe on one, it was a good digger for back then.
Good Luck with it,

Rudy,

I got mine new from a (somewhat) local dealer. It's actually a photocopy of the original manual, but it's useful. Give Marshall Machinery a call at 570-729-7117. They're in Honsedale, PA. They seem to have a lot of parts available, including some used.

Graham
